Justine + Joel

August 9th, 2024

How we got here still blows my mind! I remember when Justine first reached out to me via Instagram inquiring about her day. After just exchanging a few messages, I felt an instant connection with her (sometimes you just have a really good feeling about a session you're about to take on). Although Justine and Joel only wanted a few hours of coverage for their wedding, we made sure to cover our basis from getting some of the most important shots with their families, and then the true focus on them. That's what we did, EXACTLY to the T. It was such a joy to witness these two become one. From hopping into Justine's dress, to walking down the aisle and frolicking in the natural prairies, I couldn't have asked for a better day to celebrate these two love birds, and this might just be my new favorite thing to photograph; short, sweet and delightful. Congrats, you two!

XOXO,

BUT - have you thought about a reduced wedding day coverage?

To be honest, I was a little skeptical (not for any specific wedding in particular). I'm talking about - not getting enough images to my clients, missing pertinent details, not getting reception coverage, or speeches, or dances. The list A B S O L U T E L Y goes on. What do people call it? FOMO? This. This is what it is. But then you get some clients who really just want specifics, which Justine and Joel were clear about. Ceremony, family formals, and couples portraits. This stood out to them, and this was what they wanted specifically. Did I like the idea? Actually, yes. I want to be present and in tune with my clients, and sometimes even giving a little more is better. I had the privilege of hiring a second shooter who was absolutely amazing, by the way. When you're busy with one thing, she was finding herself useful getting details of the location, to candid moments of guests and so much more. Sometimes, you work with what you're given and this will indefinitely be enough for your clients. Is this for everyone? Probably not, but I could certainly say this was one of my favorite days ever celebrating Justine and Joel with their favorite humans on earth. What an honor.
